About Our Church:

St. George Church, Aduputty is one of the famous churches in the Kunnamkulam diocese. Located on the eastern side of Kunnamkulam town, on top of Aduputty hills, near the Kunnamkulam town, it has a rich history of faith. The town of Kunnamkulam is known for its Orthodox Syrian Community, with several churches in the area.




Famous 'Perunnal':

The "Adupputty Perunnal" is very famous and all the people who have migrated to remote places for their livelihood will be back to join the two-day function in the church.People from the neighboring countryside and surrounding churches congregate in memory of a Christian Bishop who lived in 4 th century. Adupputty Church Feast is a grand occasion spread over two days (October 27nd and 28) and marked by music and festivities and a colorful procession in which more than 50 caparisoned elephants participate. It is very famous for the colorful processions with Elephants ,band sets , Chenda Melam , Shinkari Melam... and of course the fireworks.The "Kodiyum Kurisum" and the "Nercha Oonu" is also the inevitable part and worth participating. Lot of believers and non believers and also tourists from across mainland and abroad come and visit the church during the occasion. It occurs on October 27nd and October 28 of every year.We also celebrate the perunnal as our church as April 22 and 23 of every year. You may get down at Trichur or Guruvayur Railway Station or Nedumbasseri International Airport to reach kunnamkulam [approximately 100 km from Cochin]. From the railway station/airport you should reach Kunnamkulam and then Adupputty.
